1990 Civic valve replacement
1990 Civic valve replacement
Hello all,
I bought a 90 civic as a commuter car for $100 bucks, runs but the number one cylinder does not fire. From the amount of oil on the plug I'm suspecting it's a bent valve. Also if I don't let it warm up for about 5 mins, no matter what the temp is, it smokes for about the first mile or two and then stops. It goes through about a quart of oil every 200 miles or so with minimal leaking from under the car. It has about 198000 miles on it. I've been looking around and have been unsuccessful in finding any info about valve replacement. How much work am I getting myself into? Where could I find good steps on how to replace the valves?
Thanks in advance.
