Re: is this car worth $3,800, keep looking...
Few things:
1) How much is your "total" budget?
a) Are you going to spend "all" of your money on the vehicle you purchase.
b) Will you have enough $$ for repairs, insurance, gas?
2) Why a Civic / Honda?
a) Do you know from personal experience that they are reliable?
b) Do you want to start learning to upgrade performance parts?
c) Are you using this type of car (Honda) to improve your mechanical ability for the future?
3) "I" would be cautious about purchasing a vehicle that has performance parts put in already.
a) Was the owner a young kid that abused the car and floored it constantly?
b) How long do you think it will last you?
c) How long do you need it to last you?
d) Depreciation value... How much do you think you will receive when you resell it?
4) Always take it for a test drive.
a) Check the oil.
a1) How does it smell?
a2) What color is it? (Dark // Light)
a3) Did the vehicle pass inspection?
5) Ask if it eats a lot of oil.
6) Are there any leaks?
a) If so, is it the head gasket?
Keep researching. Autotrader, Ebay, cars dot com, Edmounds, etc. Never make a purchase right away. Give it time.

Re: is this car worth $3,800
Yea....I was in the market for a new car for a while....was in such a rush but my father put the whole "any *** can buy a car, it doesn't mean anything, take your time and find the right buy." I found a really nice intergra online I almost bought but after waiting....I found a 2007 Honda Civic Si with 8,000miles that some girl traded in after owning it for 4months. Car is absolutely mint. I picked it up for $18,000 (MSRP at around $21,800)...Take your time and find the right buy, you'll feel even better when you know you got a good deal.
Re: is this car worth $3,800
Oh, and 77,000 miles is nothing on a Honda if its in good condition, (eek @ performance mods) but once again ask yourself...How long do you think it will last (be honest to yourself), and how long do you need it to last?
