Looking for headlights
Looking for headlights
so i have a 2009 civic and my headlights are just horrible. they are foggy, and the lights themselves are just dim. I was looking to buy a whole new headlight along with LED upgrades for the new headlights. any recommendations as to what brand/type of headlight i should get?

Honestly, OEM will give you the best light output. Unless you wanna go with an HID retrofit.
If you're wondering what a retrofit entails, here's a really good DIY thread of how to do a popular retrofit in 8thgen headlights

Re: Looking for headlights
Led bulbs are NOT an upgrade for vehicles designed to run halogen bulbs. You can retrofit an LED module of different styles into a halogen housing much like the HID projector retro that Riceboy linked in post #2.
Here is a neat fact about headlamps. In most countries you will fail inspection if you have a bulb that isn't what was specified from the factory. That means that if the outside of your headlamp says something like HB3/HB4 and you have LED bulbs in the reflectors they can fail you for it if they want to.
And speaking for the US, there are absolutely ZERO legal HID bulbs that can be used in place of halogen capsules. I would be surprised to find that the LED replacement have DOT approval, but it might be possible. They might all be branded as "for off road use only."
