clutch fork/ throw out beating troubles

Had a Frankenstein but did away with b18 block and replaced with b16 block.I kept the fly wheel and so far plan to continue using an Ls transmission.I put in new stage 3 clutch but the clutch fork is not getting the bearing as far as it needs to be to engage clutch.as if to say the clutch fork has 90% play and engages on its last 10. Seems like it'd be easy to just add a couple washers under the pivot ball to gain leverage maybe even macgyver the clutch fork with a little welding. The clutch kit bolts on perfectly but that bearing just isn't going far enough...help?
