ecu swap

I have a 98 EX that I bought a used auto tranny for from Craigslist. Silly me didn't check to make sure it was for an EX. Turns out its a DX. Put it in and I already knew it would throw a code. Of course incorrect gear ratio is what it throws. My question is can I take an ecu out of a DX and expect no codes? I know vtec won't work but I really don't care because I'm just trying to sell it without a code.

Re: ecu swap

Do you plan on telling the buyer what has been done to it? Or do you plan on telling them it runs great after you swap the ecu?

Re: ecu swap

Yeah of course I'll tell them. I bought it with a blown tranny just to flip and I'm selling it to a guy I work with. He rode in the car with the blown tranny first. I just need to know if it will be plug and play with no codes or not?
