Swap to a d16y8 head, maybe get a cam, not much you can do that's worthwhile on a naturally aspirated sohc engine.

Re: N/A tuned civic

You will notice a difference by switching to a y8 head especially if you install a cam. You will need a programmer if you install anything above a stage 1 cam. These SOHC engines don't respond well to bolt ons very well so the cam is the best thing you can do for it if you want to stay N/A. I had a Y8 engine with short ram intake, xtune cat back exhaust, a meagan 4-2-1 header, and a crower stage 2 cam. It was noticably more powerful than a stock Y8 but ran rich because I didn't have a programmer or a tune.

Re: N/A tuned civic

ok, i was reading up on engine swaps for my car, but im kinda confused on the years, and trim models for the engines...i was looking around but doesn't seem to be very specific, is it possible to switch out a engine from a older year vehicle and place it in a newer one ? i.e. a 92' B engine (get creative with the year and engine codes) into a 98' civic sedan ? i DO know that some engines require mounts and other accessories i at least have that amount of knowledge...but in general (here comes the question) can any year engine be used on any car ??

i seen the JDM website...is that a reliable source ?

Installing an engine into a new chassis than it is illegal, emissions stuff.

You need an engine 98 or newer.
