Rep Power: 0 3 stage vtec wiring problem
Hello all,
I have a little problem, I bought this 00 civic from a tow yard. It has a D15 with a Vtec head (3stage) from what i have foud it looks to be a JDM motor.
The wire that comes out of the first vtec solenion has become disconnected from where ever it was hooked to (under the driverside dash)> The wire for the second soleniod is wired directly into the wiring harness that goes to the distributor and that one kicks in fine @5500.
Computer = 37820-P2P-A12
1213-263783
Does the first wire pin into the big harness that hooks to the fuse box?
Or does anyone know where this would hook to?
HELP I MISS BOTH STAGES! ! ! !

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: 3 stage vtec wiring problem
My catalog lists the ECM # as for USA 99-00 EX M/T.
Someone may have had an aftermarket standalone controller for the other stages of the VTEC?

Re: 3 stage vtec wiring problem
a 3 stage vtec is hard to wire-up. maybe no hard, but needs to be wired straight to the ECU I believe. And in order for that head to work properly, you need the correct ECU for a 3-stage vtec. and there is only one basic ECU for it.
You may what to do some reading here http://hondaswap.com/ecus-electronic...-wiring-58066/

ezone, there is a buttin on the shifter that after 4500 you could push and BWAAAA
one wire went to the solenoid and the other wire out of the button went under the driverside dash, not sure where it came from.

Re: 3 stage vtec wiring problem
Each solenoid needs 12v power to turn on.
So your button needs one wire going to whichever VTEC solenoid you want.
The other wire goes to 12v "keyed" power, probably in the fusebox. Find one that has power when the key is in the run position, not one that is hot all the time.
