99 Honda Civic SiR/EM1 suspension q's

Hi there everyone. So I live in alberta and I am looking to change out my suspension because the springs I currently have make my car to low.

Right now there are stock shocks with h&r springs, which came like this when i bought it in may.

recently, there has been a lot of CLUNK noises coming from all four corners of my car, and came to a conclusion to change out the suspension, since winter is coming.

My EM1 is my DD, so I am very concerned about my right height.

I'm stuck between the three. would like your opinion on them.

There are 2 choices where I can't choose. Which would be a better BANG for my BUCK.

KYB GR-2 (280shipped) with either tein s.tech(180shipped) or tein h.tech(200shipped)
or tein ss coilovers (720us shipped)

would sit on either 14" or 15" steelies with winter tires.

this would have to minimize me from getting stuck and be drivable for winter.

Thanks in advance guys.

If you getting a clunking sound that suggests that your struts are all blown and most of your other suspension components have also likely been worn out as well. A lowered car is very hard on a stock suspension.

Coilovers are a pretty harsh ride, to harsh for a daily driver unless your very serious about performance.

The KYB GR2 are basically a stock replacement, they cannot handle a drop. I would suggest you look into Tokico Hp struts.

The only difference between Tein h.tech and s.tech is the amount of drop, so thats personal preference.

Re: 99 Honda Civic SiR/EM1 suspension q's

i had used the tein s tech springs with reg new shocks
it didnt work out so great and i need to invest in camber kits and better shocks
so i shell out the springs and got a few 00 usdm itr springs
and was perfect on the shock and handling is great
ride height drop a few but not enough to effect the tire wear
