I posted this is in the 6th gen section but really didn't get any help....
Hello all new to the forum but I highly doubt many people have my problem...I have an upwards of 600 pounds of audio equipment in my trunk and was wondering what do you all think would be a good cheaper way of handling that weight? Also do you think I need to do any upgrades to my engine or tranny? Thanks for your time, Mark.

Re: 2000 Honda Civic
Honestly 00cex, there is NO good (cheap) way to handle 600 lbs in your trunk. A 2K EX Coupe has a curb weight of 2,513 lbs. It has a GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of 3,440 lbs. This means you can put a max total of 927 lbs in your vehicle (not all in the trunk). Weight just in the trunk effects the rear suspension much more than if it was located forward of the rear tires. So, if the driver and passanger each weigh 150 lbs, you have reached the GVWR. This is going to put lots of stress on everthing.
