Tein springs???

Ok I have my flame suit on for this one...
First of all take a look at this sitehttp://cgi.ebay.com.au/TEIN-High-Per...QQcmdZViewItem
Ok I know these are not a full coil over package thingy their just springs right??? so that means I should be able to switch my stock springs with these ones if a buy a new damper's? yes???...
Now to the more important question they say that they are for a EG6 now I cannot find anything for the s-tech springs on the tein website so here is the question can I put those springs on a EK hatch instead of a EG hatch??? are they interchangable because I cannot find any information on this site about this.. Thanks for any help

Re: Tein springs???

they look like just the springs, no damper. how much less is your dollar worth than the US, tho? Cause those things would go for under 250 USD, i think.

according to the following link, the part number for the ek springs is different for the eg springs, so i don't think those would fit your car anyway. i'd google the part number from the link, and see if you come up with anything else.

Re: Tein springs???

it works out to around $370 American... It dosent sound like such a good deal anymore... I did what Ambulance Monkee said and serched around google and I found this "ALL models fitted with either Rear EYE Shocker or Rear Fork Shocker" I dont know what that means but it spoke of the EK hatch earlier in the article but the problem I can see with them now from the link Ambulance Monkee posted is that the EG ones give a 27mm drop all round where as the ones made for the EK have 23mm at the front and 15mm at the back so it would sit really uneven I think?? ill just hunt down a set that were actually made for my car... its just going to save alot of hassles... and if I buy lowered springs I need to buy new damper's dont I???

Yes, and no. you can install lowering springs on stock shocks. it's a question of how long they'll last. some people go a week to a month before the stock shocks blow from the drop, others last a year or so. it depends on the condition of your shocks going into it, and on how and where you drive. if you're going to DIY it, and you don't mind spending time and want to save money, go ahead and run your stock shocks, and know you'll just have to take it apart again eventually to put new shocks in. if you're paying someone for the install, i'd just do it all at once, to save yourself from having to pay twice. also keep in mind, every time you take the suspension off, including DIY, you're going to have to pay someone to do an alignment. were it me, i'd do shocks and springs at the same time. you will save money in the end.

Re: Tein springs???

Umm blow that dosent sound good... What do you mean buy that??? just dosent dampen any more therfore needs replacing or actually blows causing damage to things around it... Because if I can save money on the damper's and buy a good set when I can afford them, not just a crappy 2nd hand pair I can install them later on... I work at a garage and can do an alignment for myself for free when it needs it so that really isnt a problem... I dont drive it on the track or anything like that just to and from work and around the place when I need to so no harsh... Driving like I said before ill just see how they go

Re: Tein springs???

blow, as in start to leak oil, ride rough and bouncy, just generally not do their job. they won't explode or damage anything. the ride will just suck till you replace them. given the resources you have, try your luck with the stock ones for a few months, while you save up for konis or d specs or something.

edit: tried to rep you back, but it seems i "must spread some rep around" before i can rep you again. thanks for the rep, tho.
