mode motor defrost air vent controls

Rep Power: 0 mode motor defrost air vent controls
have a 1998 civic ex. my defrost has not worked quite sometime only air comes out of my top vents. leads me to believe my mode motor is bad or theres a fuse or relay. trying to find exact location of the mode motor before i take dash apart.or if anyone thinks could be something else please help.thanks in advance.

Mode motor is the servo on the drivers side of the HVAC housing.
I'm sure there are tests for it in a good service manual.

Floor/dash/defrost positions all operated from the same motor.
If you have floor and dash vent action but no defrost you could have either a motor that isn't moving far enough or a linkage issue. Or both.
Stick your head up under there so you can see it operate, then work the dash controls so you can watch all of it, motor and linkages, in action.
