Will solid grounds solve problems??
Will solid grounds solve problems??
I've been having a few problems with my car and there all electrical. my headlights are really dim, my power windows are VERY slow (but im assuming that would be the motor going just don't want it to be) when i roll them up the headlights dim even more, and recently the car has been idling very strangely. I have recently run across something online called a grounding kit. If you think this will solve my problems i plan to make/install one, but i don't want to waste my time if there is no chance of it fixing them.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

well just replace your stock grounds with new ones. you can get 4 gauge cable from the audio shops and some ring terminals to connect them.
Re: Will solid grounds solve problems??
Your headlights will dim when you roll up the windows because it's drawing extra current. The more electrical stuff you use at once the dimmer they get. I would start by getting your alternator and battery tested (autozone and advanced auto parts both do it for free) as those are the culprit of a plethora of electrical issues. The strange idle combined with funky electrical issues to me sounds like it's the alternator, but I could be wrong.

i make ground kits specific to our cars, but i agree with getting things checked first. have your battery and alternator tested. also, take the clamps off your battery and clean them. i'd suspect that would help more than a new ground kit. however, should you want one, just let me know.

The battery is brand new and replaced the clamps with it. I will definitely look into getting my alternator tested and get back to you guys.
Thanks for the responses. and thanks for the offer electric, but I'm all set.
