OK, so what now? (antenna problem)
OK, so what now? (antenna problem)
Alright, so my antenna on my 1998 Civic snapped off, and I needed to replace it. I bought a replacement and attempted to install it a little while ago. I found the connection for the stock antenna under the dash, unplugged it, tied string around the connector, and pulled it all the way through and out the roof hole. I cut the string and retired it to the new connector, pulled that down through the bottom of the dash, but it got caught on something. I struggled with it for 15-20 minutes and then sadly, the string got caught on something and broke. So now my question is this - I have the stock antenna out, and no way to snake the new one down and pull it out under the dash to plug it in. I'm actually pretty frustrated right now. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to pay to have this done.
Thanks guys...

Re: OK, so what now? (antenna problem)
Don't think that would help - the cable is like hitting a dead end at the bottom of the A post under the dash. I can't reach through and get it, I don't know where it's dead ending.
Re: OK, so what now? (antenna problem)
Just happened to me yesterday...after messing with it all day yesterday, I ended up using the hood release cable (replacement one - next project...joy). Anyway, it has no "memory" and the stiffness/flexability was perfect...maybe see if a hardware store has something like it. I fished it through the hole under the dash and secured it to the new lead with electical tape (about 6" to be safe) and it pulled right through. Must of hit it perfect because it took me under 5-mins...good luck!
