Green & Blue Gauge lights not working
Green & Blue Gauge lights not working
I bought my 99 Honda Civic HX a few days ago. And all the dash lights and things work except for the blue/green bright lights that should light up the gauges and I think the indicator lights as well. It is not the dimmer switch because it works when I move it. The only thing that works on the part behind my steering wheel is basically the backlight on the odometers.
Now one night the lights did come on for a minute but they went off again. And last night I was checking the fuses and they just started to work again, but now they stopped working again.
I've checked most of the fuses under the dash and they are all fine. I am not 100% sure which fuse they go to because # 30 is working since all the dash lights work besides though. I'm not sure what I should do now.

From what it sounds like to me is that you have a gauge overlay over your stock gauges. At times they flicker on and at times they flicker off right? Well if I'm right about you having the overlays then that sounds like the transformer that is powering them up is going out. There is really nothing you can do to fix it. They just die after a while. You'll have to replace the entire set for a new one. Personally I'd just remove it and leave it stock. If you want brighter gauges then look into leds.

check the ground first, its usually the problem cause shops dont know where to put it. mine did the same thing flickering and going out, finally i moved the ground to a good spot on the chassis and it was back to normal.

Where could I check the ground at? I'm not too familiar with cars etc.
I took it to where I bought it and they said it would be like 50$ just to check to see what the issue was.

gotta open up the surrounding areas around the cluster and trace the wires. maybe look under the dash where the fuse cover is. usually they find a bolt and ground it, but most of those places make for lousy grounds.
