Factory radio problems

Ok I know this is not that hard of a problem but I can't seem to figure out why my radio gets no stations in my 98 honda civic Lx. I checked the antenna wire in the back of the radio and it is plugged in. It just wasn't working one day when came out to the car. Day before fine worked great. Has anyone heard of them just going bad for no reason.

Re: Factory radio problems

its possible the power antenna booster failed. its a small electronic box usually located in the trunk on top where the speakers are.

Re: Factory radio problems

would that box be in the trunk even if the antenna is on the roof by the top of the drivers door?

yeah, and then there is wiring going from the box to the radio and antenna. that wiring could be damaged also. heres the diagram for your 98. its that box between the two rear speakers which unfortunately you cant get from honda it seems. maybe your local dealer might be able to, if thats the problem. could be any number of those wires too thats come unplugged or torn.

Re: Factory radio problems

I'm experiencing problems with my stock deck. I just bought this car, replaced all the fuses I can think of. The deck that was installed is an acura cd stock deck, but it's not working at all... neither is the ciggarette lighter which i know is connected to the same fuse as the radio.

Anything you can think of to fix this problem?

Re: Factory radio problems

i have a 94 civic. i was hooking up a sub( wireing is done). i took the deck out from the sloth to attatch the RCA's and the remote wire (didnt touch anything else). turn the car on and the deck doesnt turn on, so i took it out checked everything out, couldnt see where the could be, so i tried a few more times but no luck. I bought a new deck, this time i had to rewire all the speaker wires, ground, power nd everything (fingers cross, hope it works). turn the car on and same problem. figured it was a fuse or someting so i checked, everything seems to be fine. i left it as it is cause i couldnt figure it out. later that nite i was headin out when i turned my headlights on the lights on the deck came on( but no power). so here i am trying to figure out wat the problem could be..help if someone can pls..would greately appreciate it.

Thank you

Re: Factory radio problems

Have you checked the secondary fuses under the hood? Also, it's a good idea to start your own thread when you have problems. Especially when your problem isn't quite the same as the original poster. Does the deck work with the RCA's disconnected? It's either a fuse or something in the wiring came lose when you removed the deck.
