Rims for my 98 Civic EX

Hello, new to the forums and I am not going to lie, I have very little automotive experience (all I really know how to do is brake lines, brakes and oil changes, so bare with me). So I appreciate all the help you guys can give me. So first off been looking at getting some rims for my Milano Red 98 Civic Coupe. I have been looking on Tirerack and I found some that I like which I will link. Here's my question, I am pretty sure they will have no problem going on but I want to know if they will rub. If you have some suggestion as to what rims you guys think would look good on it, feel free to give your opinion. The car is 100% stock atm btw. Thanks ahead of time, appreciate it.

Welcome to the site!

Are you planning on lowering the car any?

Rubbing issues are generally seen when you have a wide rim, and low offset. If you stick with a higher offset wheel (+38) or more then you should be ok.

Thanks! I was thinking about lowering it a bit but that leads me to another question. How low is a safe level because my college has some of the biggest speed bumps I've seen. Would hate to damage anything from being too low. Thanks ahead of time.

BTW, unsure if the link is working so here are the specs on the wheels. 15x7 4x100 +42 offset.

Those wheel will fit fine. You could even go up to a 16 or 17 inch if you wanted.

As for a safe lowering amount it really depends. Generally 1 to 1.5 inches is a small drop and will clear most road obstacles. Maybe someone with a 6th gen will chime in. I have a 7th gen so it may sit higher or lower then your car stock.
