Exclamation Fries batteries

I bought a 98 Civic about a week ago with the check engine light on for an o2 sensor. After checking around, it turned out, a circuit under the steering wheel was bad and we swapped it with a spare. That turned off the check engine but the battery light turned on. Checked back on it the next day and the light was off so I assumed it would be okay to drive so I couldn’t get it smogged. Turned off on me in traffic as I was about to push the gas, and wouldnt start. Turned out the battery went bad, but I had just swapped it the day before. I got another since they were on warranty to try and drive it home. Went twenty feet and died again as soon as I put it in drive so I had it towed. Fried this battery too and the one before the one before this one so I’ve gone through 3 batteries. Could it be the alternator, or something else?

Re: Fries batteries

You've probably got at least 3 more fault codes,
the alternator isn't charging,
that's draining (not the same as ruining) the battery, it only needed recharged and it would have been fine..

and the blown fuse is the clue.....
