2000 Civic shakes at high speed
2000 Civic shakes at high speed
2000 Civic
A few weeks ago I had to slam on my brakes, really hard. Trashed the treads on my two front tires. Car started shaking like crazy when going over 60.
I replaced both tires. But the car is still shaky. Nowhere near as bad as it was before I replaced the tires but it still worries me. I can feel it vibrating in the steering wheel and its loud. When going over 60 it almost sounds like that noise you get when you only roll down one window.
All the ball joints and tie rods are fairly new.
Could this be a brake issue?

Re: 2000 Civic shakes at high speed
Possibly stuck closed brake caliper or wheel bearing issue.
Does the noise increase with speed and/or louder when coming to a stop?
Bring it back to the tire shop and ask them to do a Road Force tire balance if they have that machine. Also, ask them to inspect the brake calipers and test the wheel bearings.
