Re: does my 2000 civic have a trans filter?

No external filter from the factory, but some replacement transmission jobs get an inline filter installed in a cooler line.

Internal filter is not serviced unless trans is completely disassembled.

Not unless you consider two to four magnets at the bottom of the pan a filter..

Damn it.. you're right. I was thinking of my daughter's old Toyota Solara 2.2L.
It had a pan.. 6th gen civic doesn't. Last year I tried to install a Magnefine external filter on my '98 EX and it just wouldn't splice in correctly between the radiator and metal transmission return line without kinking the rubber transmission hose. I'm thinking of mounting it on top of the transmission using a metal tubing flare tool however, I'm leary that it may effect the transmission ATF pressure.
