Hi everyone!

Hello,
New guy on the forum and happy to be here!
I have recently bought a Honda civic and am in the process of fixing it up to be a reliable driver!
Its a 1996 civic sedan with a D16y8 and a 5speed tranny!
First off its got a fried clutch which I'm going to be replacing asap.
It's also throwing P0135, P0141 and P0302
I'm guessing the O2 sensors are dead and was wanting to replace them but can't seem to find the part numbers, I'd be thankful if someone could provide the part numbers...I'm thinking bosch sensors.
My civic has 195k on it...is there anything that I should look for or needs work?
Thanks so much!

Welcome to the forum!

I'm moving this thread to a more appropriate area in a sec.

It's also throwing P0135, P0141
Heater codes.
Is there also a P1298 or P0501? Speedo inop?
Is fuse #15 blown in the dash fusebox?

If that's not blown, then I'd ohm test the heater in each sensor.
Spec 10-40 ohms.
If those pass, then I'd check for power and ground at the connectors while the engine is running, make sure the rest of the system is capable of operating the heaters.
and P0302
Done anything to this one yet?

Test, don't guess.

I'm thinking bosch sensors.
Oh HELL no!

Pull out your original sensors and see who made each one.
NTK or DENSO will be stamped into the sensor.
Replace with the exact same as what you take out.

These are simple cars. Repairs are simple when you use the correct parts.
Anything Bosch is never correct for any Honda.

and was wanting to replace them but can't seem to find the part numbers, I'd be thankful if someone could provide the part numbers...
There are dozens of factory Honda parts catalogs online.
NTK and DENSO both have websites with part lookups online.

Everything that's worn out or broken? Start looking and listening.

Timing belt is real important. When was it last replaced?
Thanks so much!

Re: Hi everyone!

Hi! Thanks for the replys!

Heater codes.

No those are the only three codes its throwing...?
Speedo works fine and I'll check the fuse
No I haven't looked into the P0302 code...I'm new to civics
Right now I'm ordering a Exedy 08022...is that a good choice for a clutch?

Okay no Bosch sensors lol I'll pull the old ones and look!
Timing belt is real important. When was it last replaced?
I've got no idea...I'll ask the guy I bought it from.
Thanks again!
