Lightbulb 1998 Honda died while driving

My 1998 Honda Civic LX died the other day while driving on the highway. i was just getting up to speed, approx 55 mph and my tachometer and speedometer dropped to 0 but the power stayed on, no battery issues. Last night i replaced the distributor cap, wires and plugs but it still will not start. Just wont turn over. Any suggestions?

You might want to check if it snapped. You're describing a textbook timing belt issue.

Yeah, it's hidden. You're probably looking at the serpentine belt, which powers the accessories. The timing belt is protected by a cover that you can remove. Here's a reference that might be useful: http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/hon...-timing-belt-1

Damn... that means your valves most likely got bent by the pistons. That's gonna be a pretty big repair job. I wish I had been wrong!
