99 Civic won't start after replacing a spark plug
99 Civic won't start after replacing a spark plug
So earlier today I had a misfire in my engine and was able to test it down to being the furthest left spark plug. I then went down to my local shop and bought another spark plug, not realizing all the other ones in my engine are platinum AutoLites and this was a copper AutoLite. It was replaced and the car worked for maybe 10 seconds before stalling and now it won't start. The dash lights up, it turns over, and as far as I know the fuel is fine. I just can't get a spark for the life of me, and the engine is not flooded. Anyone got any advice?

When was the last time the distributor was replaced?
That sounds like the next place to check if you are sure the spark plugs are fine.
Also a suggestion would be to have all of the spark plugs be the same kind.. no mixing and matching.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

its highly recommended to change all spark plugs at once never use copper platinum only on these engines how old are your wires cap and rotor and you shouldnt have to replace your distributor untill cap rotor wires and plugs have been changed if this dosent work then go to you distributor
