So I had to pull over tonight because my engine starting making a nasty knocking sound.

It knocks while idle and while accelerating and has very poor acceleration.

It sounds like something is messing around in my engine but is very random not a constant knock.

I have not had time to pull the head off and look i just pulled over and got a ride home, it's 2 am here.

Just wanted some ideas as to what to expect and look for when I wake up tomorrow and look at my car.

edit: Saw a post on a knock sensor. My CEL is and has been on, thought it was something else though. I just now had recieved a major loss in power my fuel economy has been 25mpg though. It has been taking longer to start and almost didn't start today. My oil level is not low it is perfectly normally and when I saw it was a good color.

have the same problem in my car. check the cel for a knock sensor code. I am changing mine next week

IF your engine knock its not the knock sensor causing it.

The knock sensor is here to stablize the idle and code if their is knocking.
