1998 Honda Civic DX Hatchback automatic pulls before going into second gear?

I bought a Civic a few months ago that needed some head work since the head gasket was messed up. I have now got it fixed and the car runs fine except for when I take off from a stand still, right before it goes into second gear it kind of pulls/jerks, not a lot but I can feel it. It does not do it for any other gear just right before second, once I get on the freeway and it goes into every other gear it's fine, it is just when I take off from a stop. Anyone out there had this problem before? If so, can you help? Thanks.

My old tranny used to do that, it had about 1.5 years from the time it started doing that until it failed, my new tranny doesnt do it.
