1997 Honda Civic - Key Stuck In Ignition HELP!

1997 Honda Civic - Key Stuck In Ignition HELP! I have a 1997 honda civic lx sedan. Automatic.
When i stick the key into the ignition, it turns on fine hits the on, and will turn on. but when I try to turn the car off or to the position where you pull the key out it wont go out. When the battery is connected it wont come out, but when the battery is disconnected it comes out. I dont want to keep continuing to disconnect my battery every time i drive my car.
