when i first start my car to warm it up, it takes a while to warm up. When the car is warmed up and I start driving the engine temperature drops to almost cold and sometimes when I turn on the heater the engine temperature drops as well. I've noticed that at least once a month the coolant tank is drained and I refill it. Its not leaking coolant because I have checked under my car often. Does anyone else have this problem???

usually a car drinking coolant that isn't leaking means it's burning it. Signs of head gasket failure/failing.

My civic in cold winter conditions won't warm up until I drive it. Could be someone has removed the thermostat as well.

This part says to me the thermostat is stuck open. Replace it.


Not seeing puddles on the ground does NOT mean there isn't a leak. It could be leaking slowly and evaporating on the hot engine. There would be a trail of crusty buildup leading away from the source of the leak. Someone needs to get under the car with a light and really look.
