Ive got a leak

I see water dripping right where my hood release handle is. Taking out some of the interior I can rust stains. I poured water over the area over and over. After 3 hours of work I gave up and will have to wait for it to rain. Is this something common? The windshield seal looks ok, I just can't figure it out.

Any insight is appreciated.

Re: Ive got a leak

if you have moonroof, it could be leaking from the seal and going down the drain tube to the driver side floor near the hood release. pull off that panel and see if the hose is actually installed to the outside or if its sitting on the floor.

Re: Ive got a leak

i googled it and I think the dap seal around the hood hinge has broken down, Im going to clean the rest of it off and see if that does it. I have no sun roof.

If it's not the dap seal, my next guess would be a leak from the drain vents (for lack of a better word) on your front windshield.

Re: Ive got a leak

this one has me stumped. I cant reproduce the leak whenever I try. I have no sun roof, no AC, an hour of pouring water everywhere yielded nothing. Now Im thinking it may be coming from the fender with the tire throwing water up as it spins....
