96 Coupe - replacing door hinges questions

Finally got my Civic!

Now on to business ... need to replace the door hinges, all four hinges (because i'm not screwing around and usually take no prisoners). I'm primarily concerned with what's going on "inside the body", so to speak - when I remove the bolts hoding the hinges to the body what will happen? Are there nuts welded to a plate of some kind, or ... ? What do I expect? Is there any need to remove the dash (or perhaps only for an emergency)?

Let me know please.

Thanks!

You're gonna want 2 people to do the job. You don't need to remove any of the dash. Just the door panels and all the connections to the door itself. You'll want the window rolled all the way down for obvious reasons. When you unbolt the door, you're gonna have a lot of weight and gravity acting on it, which is why you need 2 people. Don't wanna lose a toe or something.

Thanks for the input, MelJ. I was actually planning on changing one hinge at a time as I have in the past. A little planning and a watchful eye on where the fingers are has served me well in the past with avoiding injury.

No info on if the nuts/plate are welded to the body then? I'll update when I get to it. Busy moving now.
