I have a 2000 SI with a manual transmission. It seems to have lost 5th gear and reverse - I can't get it to go into either gear but 1st through 4th are all acting normal. Anyone else ever have this happen and what was the fix. If it needs a new transmission does anyone know which other model/year civic transmissions will bolt up.

Maybe you have something stuck inside the shifter o.o

turn off the car and put it in 5th and reverse
i have a 2000 si also, but with a diffrent tranny problem
it can be the shift fork inside the tranny that might have bent or somthing.
go under the car and check the shifter bushings can be wear out,
any b series tranny will bolt right up as long as they are hydro tranny
if u use gsr tranny you will have diffrent gear ratios
if u want the same gear ratio u have to find another b16a2 tranny

pull down the shifter boot and look down the shifter lever with a flashlight
somthing probly got in the way cuz 5th gear and reverse is to the right
some lose screw or coins might got in there
