Your clutch and flywheel come together and the flywheel says " You will NOT spin as fast as me ". In other words, you need a new clutch and flywheel resufacing because the clutch is slipping to the extreme. That's my best guess.

Okay then, clean your throttle body... these cars are natrually slow unless you actually noticed a difference from before?

Lol. Yeah they are. Is the gas pedal sticking? That would be a sure sign the throttle body needs to be cleaned.

Check air cleaner.Run a can of Seafoam,1/3 can in the intake, rest in a full tank of gas.Seafoam can work miracles on these.
High Milage? Using oil?Oil been changed regular?
Have the spark plugs been serviced?Fuel filter?
Check Dist. cap&rotor for excessive build up on inside.
If high milage, and all this is OK,do a compression check.
Regards,Dizz

Here we go with the seafoam again.... a tuneup should be good enough.

. I agree. Or an Italian tuneup to go along with it . My 94 Corolla behaves the way it did 6 years ago with a basic tune up....and that thing is reaching 160,000 miles.
