02 sensor i know there are other threads please check

6TH GEN CIV-97LX I know there are plenty of post about 02 sensor problems, p0135 etc etc.. just wanted to try before i take it in to have my wiring tested. Originally was getting heater circuit primary sensor failure code for a while, eventually replaced both sensors with universal sensors (first problem, i know, bare with me it was all i had money for). Anways, after replacement light came right back on HOWEVER was the heater circuit for the SECOND sensor...I had been having thoughts of a wiring problem between the sensor harness and the ecu but didnt want to imagine it to be possible. I had been driving around for a few months not thinking much about it because the second sensor doesnt control fuel mixture but merely the efficiency of the cat and i had replaced the cat like a year ago anyway so not worried. So, today i am bored and i unplug my secondary sensor and reset the code, start the car, light comes on for the heater circuit on the PRIMARY sensor. Aside from my curiousness as to why the code for the primary sensor hasnt been coming up but instead the secondary code has been up for the last few months, this leads me to believe that the problem DEFINITELY lies in the wiring behind the harness. I dont know much about wiring and not sure if there are two different heater circuits all the way back to the ecu, which would lead me to believe that it is really just the junk universal sensors i bought. Any ideas would be great!!!! ONLY REASON I CARE IS BECAUSE OF STUPID STATE INSPECTION

Re: 02 sensor i know there are other threads please check

i got universal where u have to splice and connect the wires
for the primary
it didnt work
so i got the bosch o2 sensor for 120
i only replace the primary cuz i upgrade my headers
the cel light would just stay on
ever since i change the primary i never had issue
and my secondary was left untouch
my car is 00 si with 137k miles now
and i dont have any problems with the o2 sensors so as my advice
if ur secondary wasnt causing problem just worrie about the primary o2 sensor and use the the ones that plug and play, i know money is an issue but going through the hassle just to find out u have a 02 sensor that doesnt work isnt worth the time

Re: 02 sensor i know there are other threads please check

when it sense heat it sends out electric signal to ur ecu
unless u have a multimeter tester and knowing which wire goes where then u might have a chance other than that dont waste ur time
