I have just recently bought a 1998 Honda Civic Ex and apparently the sunroof is not working. The shade was damaged when I purchased it as if someone had punched it or whatever the case me be so I removed it. Now the Sun roof will open but only in the tilt mode. i cannot get it to retract all the way open although I do hear the motor attempting topull it back. Does anybody have any experience with this sun roof? and if so what should I look for?

In the motor area there is a couple of position switches:

1- open/close switch if is tilted and not closing this switch is bad
2- Tilt/close switch if motor opens but not closing this switch is bad

my car opened but not close and it was the open/close switch, I fixed inyecting contact cleaner with silicone and moving it several times in order internal contacts cleaned but you have to remove first the roof lining in order to get access to this, is a 1 hour job minimum
