Help--97 Civic

Help I bought a 1997 Honda Civic for my daughter and went to get keys made and they said the vin # was invalid. I did a carfax report and everything seems fine. What would cause the invalid vin #?

So the vin that you gave the tech didnt register when he entered it into the system? sounds like human error to me.

Does the car not have ANY keys? you can always get key copies made at wal-mart

Thanks for replying. It was not human error, even when she called it in it was invalid. I have a key, but it doesn't work in the trunk.
