99 Civic HX or 97 Civic EX???
99 Civic HX or 97 Civic EX???
Hey guys I'm new here, been lurking for awhile but this is my first post. Anyways, I am thinking about getting another civic. And I've narrowed it down to two. I can either get a 1999 Civic HX or a 1997 Civic Ex. what do you guys think is better and will last longer? They both have just about 100k miles on them both. Also, whats the difference in the engines I know Hx is for mpg but what does it really get mpg wise and what about the EX mpg status as well. Is there any difference in performance wise and they are both 5 speed
Also the HX is all original with 90k miles and the ex is a swap with 111,973 miles on it

I also have a 97 Civic HX and I'm able to hit 110 in third gear I have never maxed out. Only thing I know it to have is a short throw shifter, and Cold air induction. It's able to hit 70 in second. I bought the car with custom paint Burnt orange, Rims, and all the mods.
