I want to tune my Civic
I want to tune my Civic
Hi. Newbie here. I have a '96 Honda Civic hatchback with 250,000 KM. She's still going fairly well. Although I fear the end is near for her. Not because of mechanical failure but rather the family has grown and we are in need of a larger vehicle. I'm terrified the wife is going to make a move for a mini-van. Anyway, I'm finding it difficult to let go and was toying with the idea of turning it into a "rice rocket". Although, in truth, I know very little about cars. I've always thought it would be fun to learn...so...anyone know any good sites where I could get info on tuning the Civic? I have questions like, what's the largest engine my Civic could handle? More or less, how much does it cost to tune these things. I realize this varies depending on what you want to do and what you want to put into it. That's why I'm just looking for some place to start researching. Any advice would be great! Cheers!

Re: I want to tune my Civic
D-Series modifications (other than headwork or major tunes) are not going to make you any noticeably faster, just louder. Keep the stock exhaust 'till you actually need it for at least a street tuned engine that will breathe it.
