B Series vs D Series
I just got my 98 EX about 2 - 3 months ago and I am interested in getting more power. I have read some articles and have done some research but still am having trouble making up my mind.
I have the D16Y8 and an automatic transmission. I want to do a tranny swap but have been told it costs so much money I would be better off getting an engine swap kit anyways. But at the same time I have heard of people taking D series and making 9 sec 1/4 miles. I am all ears for any opinions and/or personal experiences.

maybe 9 seconds with 45psi from a turbo. hahahahahahahaahahhhahahahahaha. dont forget the 650 shot of nitrous. (overexaggeration)
for a 98 do a B-Swap for $4k

Re: B Series vs D Series
the d-series that do 9 seconds in the 1/4 mile have a life span of about 1-20(if your really lucky!) passes down the 1/4, so your looking at an engine that will last about 1/4 to maybe 5 miles.lol
B-series are relatively cheep and easy to come by and they have a huge after market for them. And they basically drop right in your engine bay real easy to do. I say go b-series and while you do it just change for a manual tranny. the options a limitless with a b-series

Re: B Series vs D Series
lol thanks for the help. I have been long after an H22 swap actually. Money is an issue but not so much. I was just wondering, if I could get the H22, should I?

Really... what 9 second Honda's are reliable as far as street use and pocket books. Like they say you pay to play and the faster the more it cost usually. But, like everyone else a b-series is by far higher in the food chain.

year 2000 or older civic easier to swap a B serious engine in there ..B16 useally cost cheaper than B18... my friend just crashed his integra GRS from the side .. it got a B18 in there .. if u interested hola ..

Re: B Series vs D Series
Thanks guys. I was just offered a torn apart H22A1 for $500 dollars, now I know i need to get the ecu and tranny and all of those things, but i figured it was a good deal. I just hate my auto tranny and I would like to have a manual. I figured since I have to buy the tranny and ecu and pay for all the tranny stuff anyways, a few extra bucks is worth a bigger engine dropped in. and I don't car about ac and ps is a plus but i can live without. thanks again guys.
