eld

This is a civic 1997 4dr EK4 with a D15Z motor. The eld is the electric load detector, what it does is switch the alternator between 12.5 and approximately 14volts when it senses there is load on the aletrnator

seems to me like what you're talking about is that you have a guage though.. am i right? if it throws a code because of voltage, it shouldn't be based on the guage.... i wouldn't think at least.. if there's only 2 wires on it, power and ground, then you can disconnect it and it wont do anything... but if it does have a signal wire to the ecu, then it would prolly throw a code..btu that seems unlikely..

oh that's not good then.. is it jst one wire fom th ecu? if thisis the case, then you will be ok taking it out.. but if the wire feeds TO the ecu then you better find a new one from somewhere
