Rep Power: 0 DIY - LED Dome, Map, Licence, Trunk Conversion [Pic Heavy]
Hey Guys, so I decided that since no one has posted an LED writeup on here, I'd be the first one. The car is a Canadian spec 2010 Civic Si Sedan.
I may be able to get a few sets of these lights for a great price for some members on here so PM me for details.
On with the pictures, starting off in the front of the car, stock bulbs.
The cover pops off fairly easily with a flat tool.
A look at the stock festoon filament bulb.
Gets replaced with a 6LED bulb.
Cover clips back on.
Just a quick daytime comparison, huge color difference, but even a bigger and brighter difference at night time (keep reading).
Repeat the same thing for the other side.
Moving onto the stock rear dome light.
Cover pops off with any flat tool.
A look at the stock festoon filament bulb.
Replaced with a 9LED bulb.
Cover Pops back on.
Moving onto the trunk, an area that highly lacks proper lighting in my opinion. Stock bulb shown.
Cover Pops off with a flat tool.
Stock t10 bulb sits inside.
Replaced with a 6LED bulb and tucked in the wires.
Cover goes back on.
And we finally move on to the licence plate bulbs. Stock bulbs shown.
This part requires the partial removal of the trunk liner, I circled the four clips that have to be removed to access the licence plate bulbs.
The clips simply unscrew and come off.
The liner hangs down and now gives us access to the bulbs.
Press the tabs together to remove the socket.
Stock t10 bulb is shown.
Replaced with a high powered t10 LED bulb.
Socket pops back in, heres a comparison of the stock vs LED bulbs.
And Here's both lights done.
And thats it!
Total installation time, about 10 min.

Some night time shots.
The difference from stock is like night and day, I'd highly recommend this mod to anyone!
Questions/comments are welcome.

PM for more details, I can ship out a few sets.
Yeah SMD stands for Surface Mounted Device which is the flat type of LED, they're much brighter and give a more uniform light (as opposed to focused) in the interior. Highly recommended.
Yes we get a trunk cover, not sure if it really serves any purpose though other than looking nice and covering the metal. Sound insulation maybe?

Hi Folks,
I am new to the forum and have a couple of questions with regards to led lights. I recently placed led lights in my 08 Civic. They look awesome except for a couple of problems. The flashers do the quick flash deal, and I was wondering if it would be better to put in a load resistor or a new LED flasher unit. From what I have read, it seems that the new LED flasher unit would be better since you don't need to install the load resistors which can produce a lot of heat and melt plastic.
Also, when I placed the led lights into my brake lights, when you turn on the lights they would not turn on. Original bulbs were 5W and led light was 1W. Would I need to place a resistor in? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll post some pics once it is all done.
One nice thing about the led lights I got is that they have a lifetime warranty.
Thanks
