01 civic lx 1.7 dash backlight issue

So the other day as I was driving half the back lights to my instrument cluster burned out, I pulled out my instrument cluster to check which light are out, when I put my lights on the next night all of my instrument cluster was dark. I have considered that it could be a short in the wiring is there any possible reason as to why all of my instrument cluster lights are out?

Do the parking lights work?

Did you try dialing up the dash lights brightness?

All of the lights on my car worked except my instrument cluster and the light dimmer still functions but didn't do anything to help

Just taking the cluster out the vibration will often knock filaments loose. They are 16 years old, and run hot as hell.

This.

Any bulbs found with a smoked or even mirror appearance should be replaced.
Even if they still work, it won't be long 'til they don't.
