JBL PX600.2 amp

I just ordered this amp from Mainstreetaudio.com.

I have been wanting to make a rack in my trunk for my amps and i wanted to get a "matching" amp, and also I can replace my girls beat-up old amp with my current amp. Between my two amps I will not be able to place them on the back of my box...so I gotta start thinking about stuff (suggestions are certainly welcome).

Anyone heard anything about this amp? I am buying it completely blind, but I love the JBL I already have and I figure this one should be better. Let me know if I am making a mistake buying this amp?? ...'cause I can still cancel my order

Has anyone ordered from Mainstreet-audio.com? I have searched all over the 'net and can't find any info on their service and reliability.

Very nice choice of amp... no doubt the new jbl/crown amps will be of very, very high quality. I plan to run the PX600.2 to my JL XR 3-way components and the BPX2200.1 to my new pair of e15a's from Elemental Designs...

Let me know how you like it. That amp was going for $255 the other day on ebay.

I will for sure. Yeah, I saw the amp on e-bay, but after shipping it was between $275 and $280, so I just paid the extra $30 dollars and got it from Mainstreet. I just don't trust ordering from someone that has no contact info, Especially if it is a business with NO contact info on their own web-site. It is funny 'cause I went to the e-bay seller's website and they said basically that they cater to high-end audio enthusiasts who know how to hook stuff up so they provide limited customer support...but they only carried stuff like Pyle, Rockwood, Boss, and the usual suspects Is it a bad sign that they were selling JBL

anywayz ...

...I didn't see that guy. I only saw some guy from New York. Oh well, I rather just go with a reputable company.

...Mainstreetaudio is turning out to be a bad place to order from for me. They charged my credit card, but when I called them they couldn't confirm that they had my product in stock or if has shipped

I just should have price matched at sounddomain because I have never had to worry about stuff with them. I am a lil worried because I have nevered heard of anyone ordering from this company so I don't know what there reputation is.

...ok, now I am really starting to worry if mainstreet-audio is legit. They don't accept cutomer questions by phone after an order is made so I had to send an e-mail to them using their web-based based form (which also conviently keeps me from being able to save a copy of what I sent). In the mean time I have tried calling them, and I just want to know two simple things 1. Is the product I ordered in stock, and 2. did it ship and what is the tracking number.

They billed my CC the day after I made the order...so in my mind if they billed me they should have already sent the product out. I have called several times, and out of all the times that have only picked up ONCE...and that was the order line!!! When I actually talked to the guy he could not tell me anything even besides they ordered it from another warehouse...what does that mean

...just venting!!!! I thought they would be good because they are authorized for a lot of reputable brands...but damn!

...worst company ever!!! They gave me so much BS when I called just now to try and cancel my order. They can not confirm that my product hasn't ship therefore they can not refund my money...but I finally got the guy to admit that they did not have any of the amps in stock ...and they have charged my card, and he has no idea when they will be able to get those amps in stock. "Usually ships in 1 to 2 days"...right!!

I would call the credit card company and let them know whats going on. Put a stop on the payment or a refund in your case and report the company...

Good luck!

So I finally got my amp yesterday...thank goodness for Sounddomain and quality customer service.

I haven't installed it in my call yet, but I did carpet and mount it on a board.
The thing that I noticed about it is that the gain and x-over ***** are the same as the old JBLs That is kinda a dissapointment, but I am not planning on using the x-over and I am setting the gain at the max because I will just use my x-over for all that. Not to many other features were included besides the ability to swith from a 12 db to 24 db x-over. I don't use too many extra features anyway, so that doesn't bother me.

It is HUGE a huge amp though. It is like a diamond, eclipse, or kicker amp...really long.
It came with a rating card, but it only gave one rating: It is rated 650 watts bridged at 4 ohms.

Another funny thing about the amp is that the box that the amp comes in says that is is rated at 150 x 2 at 4 ohms, 300 x 2 at 2 ohms, and 300 x 2 at 1 ohm...but the manual says that the amps minimal impedence is 2 ohms, so the box packaging is a lil misleading.

I will post what I think when I get it installed.

MangoEX should not be trusted
Wow sounds good. So you're using this for one Sub fonto? I want a better sub setup, i have a POS koiler 6666 amp hooked up to a cerwin vega SVC 250w rms sub (the amp pushes 180w rms) bridged x1 @4 ohms. Anyway, I wanna keep the one sub setup, go for a new amp, and new speaker. What speaker do you reccomend with this amp (12")? I dont know too much about configurations and all, but would it be possible to hook this up to two 12" subs and get decent result?

I'm actually using it for my front speakers...but I guess it can also be used for subs. I would go to few local shops and electronics stores and listen for something that you like.
