Aren't all the slope controls and such only for the pre-outs?
If so then you can't do a thing with them and affect any of the stock speakers.
Thats a rather intense deck for having an all stock system.

I know somebody who is getting that deck installed in his car tomorrow, he has a seperate amp for a pair of subs but for the next few weeks he's going to use the deck to power his stock speakers, i'm assuming the eq crossover settings would work for the decks internal amplification, i'll know more tomorrow though i guess.
Hey Shadow,
I was speaking to the Alpine dealer about the 9815 cause Im looking at buying one myself. The crossover points on the setup control both the amplified speakers out and the pre-out controls
I am already planning the frequency setups on my car which has factory speakers and a sub. If you are crossing over the speakers you want to pick a frequency and slope that matches the sub setup. If you had a 12 sub at 12db to 50Hz you would want things to be close to that on the deck otherwise you risk having some of the sound not beeing reproduced.
In case no one explained it to you, the slope on the crossover is the rate at which unwanted frequencies are removed. 6Db means that if you doubled the frequency (1 octave) the volume would be 1/4 as loud. 12 Db means 1/16th, 18db 1/64th and so forth. We hear sound on a log scale which means that 1/64th as loud doesnt mean we wont hear it at all...its just quieter.
As a starting point I would look to set the front speakers around 100 Hz and the rear closer to 60-70. Set a slope of about 12dB and that should reduce some of the bass but protect the speakers from bottoming out too much if you're not using a sub to add bass.
I would also look to the dealer you bought the deck from for some setup help. They may have an RTA (measures the sound from low to high) which you can use balance the system. At least they should explain to you how to setup the features and give you some help with it. Although I havnt bought mine yet, the dealer said he will spend about an hour setting it up with me if I want

My friend just got his alpine installed so i can come back and answer your question....the post above already did though.
Only problem my friend has now is that he's still running stock speakers but he hooked up an amp and subs so now all he hears is bass, and if he turns up his radio to hear the music all he hears is distortion......he was planning on waiting a month or so to buy new components, but i think he's going to getting them much much much sooner
