you dont NEED any watts. you could do all that with anywhere between 3 and 12 channels. its all dependant on what you wanna do, how much money you wanna spend, etc. that sub will move with as little as 10 watts or as many as 500-700... same for the quarts.

That doesn't help me much. I want to spend what ever I need to have the subs slam and the other speakers to be loud the subs go up to 500 watts rms and i'm not sure about the other. I just wanna know how many channels I need per amp for the subs and the mids?

what model mb quarts to begin with.

secondly, with the sub amp you just need to find something that gives you the amount of power you want at the ohm load youll have.
you could spend anywhere between 100 and well overr a grand.

as to the mb quarts,

we can do a 2 channel that you can bridge your speakers to, cheaper, but you wont be able to fade from front to rear,

you can do a 4 channel so therefore you can fade from rear to front but more expensive,

your other option is to only amp the fronts, run the rears off the deck with a 2 channel. if you then decide you want your rears amped, you can just merely add another 2 channel.

for these options again you can spend between 100-200 to well into the multi thousand dollar range.

It will work fine, but again, it's all in how much you want to spend and how loud you want to go. What model Quart's do you have? I'm running 500 watts to my Quart PSD 216's. 250 watts per-side. No rears. If you have PSD's, then 75 is alright, but you definately arent playing them to their maximum potential.

As far as $$, my highs amp cost me $700...its $1100 retail. It's 4x125, and I bi-wired it. (2 channels to each side of the fronts) A cheap 4x75 amp could run you $100-$200. You will go loud, but not ear piercingly. (quarts are not particularly efficient). You also will pay for cleaner power, more tuning options, stuff like that. Tell us what you want for sound, and what model your quarts are. Then we can help you.

As far as the kickers, a 1000x1 amp would be fine.

OT, hifonics XI plympus, mystic?

back on topic, 1000 rms is defniiitely approaching the maximum amoun tof powe ryoull wanna give yrou VR's. 600 peak watts would eb the lower level, but dont think they wont get loud off little power as well!

jsut be sure yrou amplifier puts out its power at a configuration that you cna wire yrou subwoofers to.

and 75x4 powering each corner is more than average amount of power as is, i think you will love that.

sounds like a plan to me!

mystic, biwiring a set of components only has you playing 250 watts at the exact point of crossover. probably 3500 hz.

Okay I got some more info. The fronts MB Quart DSD Reference 6.5" 2-way. And the rears are MB Quart DKC 169 2-Way. I found a Kicker amp KX300.4(2 Ohm @ 4x75). And another Kicker amp KX800.2 2 channel with the Kicker comp VR 12'S. Does this sound like a good set-up?

Mystic3030....Does your MB PSD tweeters shut off (go into protection mode) at high volume?

Cree01.....If you want 75 watts x 4, then you will need to get the Kicker KX600.4 since you will be pushing the speakers at 4 ohms...... The KX300.4 will give you about 37 watts x 4 @ 4 ohms.....The amp for the subs is fine.

No, the MusiComp crossover that comes with the PSD's has a light filament in it that absorbs excess power to keep the tweets from blowing instead of shutting off. If you really overpower them, the light will blow like a fuse, shutting off the tweets and then you just need to replace it. I have yet to do that though, I can turn my HU all the way up and it is unbearably loud in the car, with no distortion. I am at the limit for those speakers though. I beleive they are 130 watts RMS, and i'm giving them 250.

It's all in proper tunning though....like I said, the light filament barely glows when I crank it, when I was first experimenting with it, I could get it to light up all the way, almost popping, but that was with imporoper gain settings and stuff....Now it's great.

cree, something isnt right about yrou spces. double check them.

yoru speakers are at 4 ohms, so forget about any powerrating at 2 ohms. like, completely. if it doesnt say @ 4 ohms, then you dont have to even care about it.if its 37 watts at 4 ohms stereo, most likely its 150x2 at 4 ohms mono. id doublecheck, for sure.
