Rep Power: 0 Tweeters in Door Panel
I'm considering mounting my tweeters (JBL GTO 605c component) in my door panels, right in front of the door latch assembly (like many people have done from pictures I saw). Could anyone give me some advice/pointers as to the best way to go about doing this? Would it be possible to use a 1" dowel drill bit to create the hole?

Rep Power: 313 yes, a hole saw is the only way to go. ensures a clean cut. you cna eyeball where they go, but ideally they are in teh exact same position (not for sq, but for aesthetics!) so youll have to extra careful about positioning on teh second panel.
id make sure you check behind the area to see if you have physical space for it, dont wnana cut a tweeter hole then find out the cup wont sit flush.
thats pretty much all i can think of righ tnow....

Rep Power: 0 Yea, I did the same thing in the same place and used a 1" hole saw. First, I would first eyeball the position for the first tweeter, then measure how far down from the window and how far in from the hinge so the opposite one is in the same place. I had no problem with the install, the tweeters wen't in very nice and there was no gap between the door pannel and flush mount at all. The only problem that I ran into was where to put the crossover. Good luck with the install and feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Rep Power: 305 hole saw is a must. also you might need a dremel to make it a good fit (my tweeters needed 1.81" of clearance, so a 1.75" hole saw and some some sanding made it perfect).
i left my crossovers in the trunk, it was easier for me, plus my door panel isn't 100% water tight so i didn't want to deal with shorted crossovers. they do look good in the doors, not a whole lot of cancellation either.

What do you mean the crossovers "look" good in the doors. My crossovers are mounted inside and you can't see them. Have you seen them mounted somewhere elce on the door? Just curious.
