my sub

Hey I've got a problem with my 12" Eclipse Sub in my car. The problem is it's not working. It works sometimes, after I turn on the car, but then if I go over a bump or something it stops working. Sometimes it will turn back on if I go over a bump, but sometimes it won't turn back on for days. I have checked all the wires and they're all fine, and have put in new speaker wire. I have no clue what the problem is. I even checked the wires in the box, which is a problem I had before, and I ended up taping those wires to make sure they're on right. I checked the wires behind the deck, and made sure they're all connected, including the two output wires. I have no clue, what the problem is. Someone please help me.

maybe a component INSIDE your amp is loose.. so when you hit a big bump, it gets jarred arround

lemme explain: its possible that if you were playing the amp really hard for a long time, you could have melted some of the sauder holding something to the main board.. and if the component is heavy enough, it might slide around when you hit bumps

oh.. one other thing.. you said that you checked all the wires/connections

but make sure you check more than just the amp

check your ground.. and check your + on the battery

i had the same problem with my underglow lights.. they would go on off intermittently (either when i hit a big bump... revved really high.. or when the bass really hit) the problem was a bad ground that kept losing contact

make sure you sand down what ever your grounding your amp too. sauder the wires to the box if you have a tab thing.

that happened to me once, it turned out to be the fuse that i used to replace the one that came with my amp kit. the fuse i replaced it with was too short, and would sometimes make contact, sometimes not.
