What do you think of this setup?
Here is what I MAY be getting installed within the next day or two.
Eclipse CD5423 Head Unit
Pioneer Premier TSA630P 6.5"
Pioneer Premier TSA930P 6x9"
Eclipse 87101.4 AMP
Eclipse 10" Sub
All installed for $1279
Is this a good deal?

and as to whether its a good deal, how are we supposed to know? that wouldnt be a good deal for me, but to many other members on this board, it would be a fantastic deal. there are more factors than whether you got your stereo at a bargain as to whether its a good deal. and equipment list and total installed price isnt really enough information to define whether something is a good deal or not.
for example, if you wanna blockrock and play rap at 3 am to annoy neighbors, that stereo aint a good deal.
if you like smooth highs that wont make your head hurt at high volumes and shatter yoru ear drums, thats not a good deal
if you like midbass, thats not a good deal.
if you like bass up front, thats not a good deal.
if you want yoru stereo to take up lots of space in yoru trunk, thats not a good deal.

I'm not too sure about those speakers either. And an eclipse sub especially a 10". Dude no offense, but I use to have a 10" sub and it didn't do sh*t. If you're looking to bump, then no that system doesn't sound to good. But I guess if you're looking for decent sounds, then i guess, but I wouldn't pay $1200.
Well, I dont know much about car audio so I am lost in this area. I am not looking to blow out any windows with this thing. I just want to be able to turn it up loud get some bass and have it sound clean. So if all of that is crap what do you all recommend?
Pioneers are pretty good for what you pay. I have the 6x9s in the rear of my car off they deck and they do more than what I ask them to do. Just a little bit of fill. I also have an Eclipse Aluminum 12" that I love. A 10" Aluminum should do pretty damn good.
Personally I would scrap the rears for now and get components up front on an amp. Components on an amp are to me the most important part of a system. It makes the SQ of a system so much better.
Then see what you think after that .... ie if you even still want rears.

I just talked to my boy at the shop and he said that the full range up front with the factory tweeters "capped" would sound better. I dunno for sure, just going by what people tell me.

I'de get a good set of components, a single tempest 12, and two amps. put the 12 in a nice size ported enclosure, it should play very low but have the bump you want.
Wait till you see the factory speakers. They are a joke. I wouldn't use them. I have never seen anything so pathetic as the factory fronts. The magnet assembly is about the size of two bottlecaps if that.
Save the hastle, do it right, and get a good set of components.
Just my 0.02

TS-A930P ~$110 I would go with TS-A6990R (If i went with Pioneer)
TS-A630P ~ $90 I would go with an Infinity Component Sys.
ur sub ~$100 My 2 12" Kicker Comp VR $140 Shipped
there is no such amp model 87101.4 i searched and got http://www.canze.org.nz/reviews/inde...roduct_ID=1390
i would go with a kicker 800.2 amp
are you goint to install this or someone else. i think for 1200 i rather do it my self, get my own parts and save alot of money

To be honest I am kinda surprised they are Neodymium. I know they can be much smaller but I dismissed it since they were factory.
Also the fact I went from factory to Diamond M6's on an amp that the change was so drastic didn't help.
Hell even my girlfriend noticed the difference in clarity. Now that is sayin something.

that was a funny comment!!Anywayz, Honda prolly had to go with the neodymium magnets because some dumb engineer
prolly designed the oddly shaped speaker hole cut-outs
'till the day, I wonder why the wholes have that funky shape...Honda should know by now that the only reason people buy Civics is to modify them.

I'd stick with the Eclipse equiptment. Better sound quality. I had Kicker and now I have Eclipse. They are great.

And we as consumers are letting them do it. you break a lexus headlight, you have to get a new ASSEMBLY, not a new bulb. thats $1100 to fix a broken headlight. and we are letting them do it.
if you want to fit a normal speaker in a honda door, you have to dremel it out cause of the small odd shape, then add a spacer to get that maget in there. and we are letting htem do it.
you want to mod a 2001 honda civic as opposed to a 1999 honda civic, and its impossible to find parts, nothing fits, everything is bass ackwards for the parts scene, nothing rotates teh right way, everything sticks out the wrong direction, the suspension is a new design, and the bodypanels are even different within our generation......
AND WE ARE LETTING THE CAR COMPANIES DO THIS
in 5 years, mark my words, only then will people will figure out what the manufaturers are doing,. but not BEFORE they have to pay $1400 for a new oem radio, but after.
