Disabling Daytime Running Lights?

How do I disable daytime running lights? I'm investigating HID right now, but my car has DRL which basically runs the high beam at 30% output. I need to disable this because HID will not function for DRL.

Look under the steering wheel, cause thats where my fuses are located, on the panel there was a chart stating where all the fueses go, check there or it might be in the manual

Great, I'll take a look under there.

An EL is pretty near an EX Sedan. Not too many differences.

there a bunch of other people on the forums that have DRLs too, it seems like the New Yorkers especially, maybe one of them have found the fuse.

Is it just a fuse that enables the DRLs? I bought my car in NJ and it doesn't have them. I want to install them for the insurance discount.

In Canada, DRL is standard equipment. Supposedly leads to less accidents, however there is no real evidence to support this.

I believe its actually a relay that runs the DRL. Its been quite a long time since I remember reading about on ho to disable them with my old car but it had something to do with pulling the relay and then jump a wire between 2 of the pins so your regular lights still worked.

I tried it the other day and all I did on my CDN 01 Si was to pull the #3 fuse in the interior fuse box and they went off. The down side was that the DRL light on the dash came on. I am not sure how to stop this, as the other night I was driving and one of my PIAA's blew from then on the DRL light stayed on all the time as it disables them untill the blown bulb is replaced.
