Hey everyone, got a Hifonics ZX6000 amp w/ my JL Audio XR650 component set. They work pretty good, but I have been having a problem ever since I installed them last week. When I am playing my music loud, my tweeters kind of fade out and the music sounds very flat. To fix the problem though, all I have to do is turn down the volume for about 10 seconds and then the problem will fix temporarily until I turn up the volume up again for a while. Do you all know why my speakers do this? I am pretty sure it has something to do with my amplifier, but what? Here are my amp settings just in case:

Hi Pass: 10Hz-1.2K
X-Over: HP or LP/BP
Low Pass: 30Hz-150Hz
Bass Eq: 0dB-18dB
Level: 6V-.2V

no, its the tweeter protection circuit. The JL's aren't made to be cranked heavily, theyre made for warm, flat response. Youre either clipping them or just playing them too loud. Try turning the gain down slightly or if that doesn't work just dont play em as loud

Yea, it is the level. I noticed that on my amplifier, the Low Pass, Hi Pass, and Bass Eq don't really have any effect on the way I sound. Are these mainly for a subwoofer or what?

You should be using the high pass and it should make quite a big difference in the way the components sound. There should be a switch for
high pass/low pass/ flat. It the switch is on flat then turning the high pass and low pass ***** won't change the sound. Switch it to high pass and turn the high pass up so its around 70-80Hz. You notice a difference in sound.

The low pass and bass eq are normally used when using the amp to run subs so dont worry about them.
