Hey everyone, I have an Alpine CDA-7893 HU and as alot of you may know who have this unit, many of the units have defective faceplates that basically stop responding when you press buttons. Well mine does this, but not all the time. It isn't under warranty since I got it off ebay, so I will have to purchase a brand new faceplate, which is kind of pricey. My question basically is my unit doesn't always act up. Ive gone a month without it acting up, but then it started, and as of now, my faceplate is fine. Will my faceplate ever just stop working due to this defect or will it just continue to stop responding everyonce in a while? I really don't want to spend all the money on a new faceplate right now. Also, by any chance is there a way I can fix the unit myself? I am pretty good with electronics and if it is something simple, then maybe I can replace it.
