Rep Power: 0 Is mixing sub brands a bad idea?
I have 2 Alpine 10's that I love, and sound really nice for low bass, but I was thinking about throwing in the JL 10's that I have as well. I was going to try to use the JL's for midbase.
Am I on drugs or will this actually sound OK?
I'm currently running just the Alpine 10's and my Clarion Pro Audio 6 1/2 seperates for the front end.
Thanks for whatever info you can offer.

Rep Power: 0 Well about they whole mixing speakers thing. Check this out. I have 2 cerwin vega 6.5 in the front doors and 2 kenwood excellon 6x9 in the back deck connected to a fosgate 200x4 and then I have 2 fosgate 12in subs in the trunk connected to a sony 760. So you can see that I have a melting pot of different stuff in my car and it all sounds pretty good if you ask me.
I say try it out and listen to it. I YOU LIKE THEN HELL KEEP IT if you think it sounds like then take it out. People say that you should keep everything the same which sounds technically sound to me but as you can see I ended up with alot of different stuff and it still sounds pretty damn good.

Rep Power: 0 I understand imaging and covering all the diff sound ranges with diff TYPES of speakers, what I'm wondering is if i'm gonna end up with cancelation issues if I use 2 diff Brands of the same size SUBS.
Thanks for the input though,
Anyone else?

Rep Power: 0 You should be ok as far as cancellation issues as long as you don't have the two defferent brands of subs playing the same thing. Just make sure they're crossed over at the right frequency and use a pretty steep crossover slope.
