glass the sucker shut =)
as you ca see i havent finished with fat mat on that side, i was waiting to do this first...
basically just push the plastic clips in and the sucker falls out of your car onto the floor by your rear driver side tire well
then glass over it... i did 4 layers just for the hell of it, coulda gotten away with just 2
when that dries up im just gonna fatmat over that and the rest of that area

Rep Power: 0 no its not on the lid, of you open up your trunk, and pull the carpet off the drivers side (the carpet that lines the side of your trunk), you will see this black plastic contraption with a flap in it. the flap is what rattles since when subs move, massive amounts of air is moved, therefore the air shakes the flap open and shut. And no you cant just fatmat it because the flap is inside a plastic thinger, i'll take a picture of the flap and the case for it tomorrow.

you sure can dynamat it. Just take a large enough sheet to cover it to the surrounding metal and it works just fine, never had a problem.

Rep Power: 370 Have a picture of the flap?
What's "glassing it"?
Is there a different alternative to getting rid of that annoying sound?
Will it affect anything if the vent box is sealed?

Rep Power: 370 This is the area where you will find the vent flap. Lift up the carpet as shown and you will see a black box with four clips. Two on top and two on the bottom. Just pop the bottom ones out toward the rear bumper and it should fall off.

Rep Power: 0 So how the hell do you get it to stop? What is "glassing it" these questions were never answered. I noticed that rattling I figured it was the white plastic sheet that you find inside the doors.

Rep Power: 370 I just taped duck tape over the big hole you see in picture #1. It works fine but not too sure what's gonna happen when it rains or over a long period of time. I guess "glassing it" means shutting the hole up with fiberglass? It's rarely the "white plastic sheet that you find inside the doors." cuz the main source is where your sub is and that is in the trunk. So anything near the trunk should be fatmatted. You COULD do the insides of the doors too like D but it's up to you. If you DO hear rattling from your doors then do that.
